At the Faithful Bride

It had been a while since Arabella stopped into her old home to check on her father, and so, now that she had arrived in Tortuga again, she made her way to the old bar. Stepping into the dingy interior brought many memories from Arabella's childhood come swarming back. Her father, now much older than she had remembered, quickly pulled her into a tight hug as soon as he saw her. Arabella smiled, her father seemed to have overcome his drinking problem. Deciding she might as well help while she was visiting, she picked up a tray and began to wait tables, just as she had done in her teenage years.

Jack sat at a table in the back with his feet up. His hat down to cover his face as he spotted Bell. "More rum." he called, after downing the rest of his bottle.

Arabella stopped back behind the counter and filled a tankard from the tapped barrel.
"There ye go." she chirped, sliding the goblet across the worn wooden table to the man. She was surprised at how well she was feeling now that her father had recovered from his addiction.

Jack grabbed hold of his class and brought it to his mouth. "It's been awhile, Bell. Good to see you again by the way." he said before downing it.

Arabella nearly dropped the tray she was holding upon his addressing her.
"By god, if it isn't Jack Sparrow!" she laughed, a wide grin spreading across her face. "T'as been awhile!"

"I was passing through and thought I'd stop in. Things are busy as ever, eh?" He said with a smile. "How have you been?"

"Thoughtful of ye. Old place is still pretty lively, yes." she nodded, looking over her shoulder fondly. "How've I been? Well... I've acquired a ship... and a nice hat." she grinned slyly. "I recall ye used to say ye wanted those things, have ye gotten them?"

"Aye. As you can see, I got me hat and I have a ship. But not just any ship." He said, leaning closer to whisper."I'm captain of the Black Pearl."

Arabella clasped her hands together over her mouth like an excited child. "My, ye sure have been busy..."

"As long as i have me rum." He said with a smile. "All it took was a little trickery on my part to Davy Jones himself."

Arabella pulled up a chair and sat, leaning forward with her chin rested in her palms on the table. "Ye outsmarted Davy Jones again?!" her eyes were wide in surprise and amusement.

"You could say that. But you could also say it was more or less a bargain of which i have no intention of keeping."Jack said with a grin. "So, what's your story on said ship you own, eh?"

Arabella smiled, he still sounded like the same old Jack to her. "The Outlaw Queen was a gift from me dear mum."

"Ah. Have you been playing pirate on your account of missing me so much? Or is that fact that you missed me and you wanted to hunter treasure for yourself? Either way, you still missed me, eh?"

"I've been playing pirate on the account of ye got the ol' gang into when we was kids." she laughed, her eyes shining affectionately. "But I spose I've missed ye a teeny bit."

"Oh, good. I missed you too, Bell."He replied."When was the last time we got to talk like this?"

"Oh, it's been ages it has!" she exclaimed, smiling. "So much has happened I'll wager!"

"Well, I do remember our run in with what was his name...trembles....trudder....trenches.....ah! His name was....his name isnt important but what was important is that We obtained the sword of cortes and the triton of neptune."

"Ye mean Torrents?" Arabella questioned gleefully. "He was a nasty one wasn't he?"

"Aye that's the one! Torrents. Well, he certainly wasn't pretty."Jack replied. "Unless of coarse you're into ugly, in which case you're welcome to it, mate." He joked.

"Of course not!" Arabella scoffed, grinning.

"Good times." Jack said with a sigh. "Have you heard of Bootstrap?"He asked seriously.

Arabella's face fell. "Not for ages, I heard he died."

"Sorry, Bell. It's true. If I could have, I would have saved him. He was a good man."He said, downing the rest of his rum.

"Oh!" she gasped, clasping a hand over her mouth and squeezing her eyes shut. "How'd he go?"
